Breeding

At Willowood, our focus is the health and welfare of the Japanese Chin breeds. We will try to determine if the breed is a good fit for you and your home. Pet stores, puppy mills, and persons who breed Japanese Chins for the purpose of profit do not always know what the breed standards look like or even consider whether they are breeding a healthy dog. I believe in my Chin....and I believe in your sincerity to share your life with one. Pet puppies range from $2000 to $2500. Show quality puppies $2500 to $3000. I do not co-own nor take deposits on puppies. If you are promised a puppy, you will recieve that puppy. I do require a bio from you, and the name of your vet for references and ideally, a personal meeting.

Puppies

Willowood puppies are Championed sired and carefully bred for disposition and soundness. All of my puppies come with complete health certificates and the wormings and vaccinations appropriate for their ages. I keep the puppies until they are 10-12 weeks old in my home to insure that they are properly socialized before they go to their new home. All of my puppies are guaranteed for life meaning if for any reason your life changes and you cannot care for your Chin anymore, I will buy the dog back regardless of age. I never want to see one of my Chin in a rescue situation . I am responsible for them being here , so when you purchase a puppy from me, I am in your corner for the life of your dog to answer any questions and to help you all that I can to ensure a long and happy life together.

(Note: Puppies are available occasionally.)

About the Chin

The Japanese Chin is a small, well balanced, lively, aristocratic toy dog with a distinctive Oriental expression. It is light and stylish in action. The plumed tail is carried over the back, curving to either side. The coat is profuse, silky, soft and straight. The dog's outline presents a square appearance.
